Also, the transmittal deadline date and "return with amendments" deadline date are shown. -------------------------------------------------------------------- The Montana legislature must finish its work in 90 days or less. In order to ensure that bills move through the legislative process in a timely fashion, there are various intermediate deadlines set for the transmittal of specific types of bills from the first house to the second house, and also various deadlines for the second house to return amended bills to the first house.
