A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT APPROPRIATING $100 MILLION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FROM THE GENERAL FUND FOR COUNTIES TO BUILD, IMPROVE, AND MAINTAIN COUNTY ROADS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE."
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:
NEW SECTION. Section 1. Appropriation for distribution to county and consolidated city-county government road funds -- use of funds for building, improving, and maintaining county roads. (1) There is appropriated to the department of transportation $100 million from the general fund for counties and consolidated city-county governments to build, improve, and maintain county roads.
(2) As used in this section, "county road" has the definition provided in 7-14-2101.
(3) The amount must be allocated on a monthly basis to the county and consolidated city-county government road funds as provided in 15-70-101(2)(b) and (3).
NEW SECTION. Section 2. Effective date. [This act] is effective July 1, 2009.
