A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT RESTRICTING THE AMOUNT OF A BONUS PAYMENT TO ANY STATE OFFICER OR STATE EMPLOYEE; AND PROVIDING AN IMMEDIATE EFFECTIVE DATE."

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 1.  Bonus restrictions. A state officer or state employee, including those enumerated in 2-18-103, may not receive a bonus or any type of monetary payment, other than normal salary or wages, that is in excess of $1,000 during a fiscal year.

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 2.  Codification instruction. [Section 1] is intended to be codified as an integral part of Title 2, chapter 18, part 3, and the provisions of Title 2, chapter 18, part 3, apply to [section 1].

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 3.  Effective date. [This act] is effective on passage and approval.
