CDTP: The Cooperative Driver Testing Program (CDTP) authorizes CDTP certified traffic education teachers to administer the Department of Justice knowledge and road tests and directly issue Traffic Education Learner Licenses. Students in driver education programs who are not involved with the CDTP must go to their local driver licensing office to apply for a permit and to take the knowledge and road tests that apply to the permit and driver license.
A Montana teacher license and traffic education approval expires on June 30 of the year indicated and the instructor may not legally teach beyond September 30 without renewal.
